Hair types run from 1 to 4. Type 1 (1A–1C) is straight, type 2 (2A–2C) is wavy with loose S-shaped waves, type 3 (3A–3C) is curly with defined loops and spirals, and type 4 (4A–4C) is coily with tight coils and zigzags.

It's normal to have more than one type on your head, and short hair often hides your pattern until it grows. To pick a BSSET product you only need to know whether your hair is straight, wavy, curly or coily.

Straight hair (1A–1C): Sea Salt Spray for texture and volume, Sea Salt Pomade for hold, and Hair Styling Powder for lift at the roots.

Wavy hair (2A–2C): either the styling range above for a textured look, or the Original Curl Cream for defined waves.

Curly and coily hair (3A–4C): the Original Curl Cream, with the Hydrating Conditioner underneath for moisture and slip.

No. BSSET makes products for every hair type: the Sea Salt Spray, Sea Salt Pomade and Hair Styling Powder are made for straight and wavy hair (1A–2C), and the Original Curl Cream is made for wavy, curly and coily hair (2A–4C).

It depends on the look you want. For defined, clumped waves, use the BSSET Original Curl Cream on soaking-wet hair: it's made for types 2A–4C. For a textured, messy or slicked look, use the Sea Salt Spray on damp hair, then the Sea Salt Pomade to finish (together they're the Textured & Hold Duo).

Yes. The BSSET Original Curl Cream is made for types 2A–4C. On type 4 hair, apply it to soaking-wet hair in sections, and use the Hydrating Conditioner first for moisture and slip.

No. BSSET products are made for your hair type, whoever you are.

Soaking wet. Apply the Original Curl Cream straight out of the shower, before you towel-dry. That's what gives the clump and definition. On damp or dry hair it won't define.

Start with a coin-sized amount and add more if your hair is long, thick or dense. Rub it between your palms and rake it through soaking-wet hair from mid-lengths to ends (on type 4 hair, work in sections). Scrunch upwards to clump the curls, then leave them alone and air-dry or diffuse.

Too little shows as frizz; too much shows as grease. On day two, mist with water using the Refresher Spray Bottle and scrunch: no re-wash needed.

No. The Original Curl Cream is a cream, not a gel: soft, touchable, flexible hold with no crunch and no shine.

The usual causes: the Curl Cream went on damp or dry hair (it needs soaking-wet hair), the curls were touched while they dried, or they were rubbed with a normal towel. Use a microfibre towel or a T-shirt, or skip towelling altogether.

Sea Salt Spray on damp hair, then blow-dry. Hair Styling Powder at the roots once hair is dry. Sea Salt Pomade through the lengths to finish. Spray gives the texture, powder the lift, pomade the hold: that's The Styling Trio.

Warm a pea-sized amount between your palms for 10 seconds, then work it in from the back forwards. On damp hair it gives a wet, natural finish; on dry hair, a messy, matte texture. Use your fingers for texture or a comb for a slick-back. It's a medium hold you can restyle all day.

If it looks too shiny, apply it to dry hair and use less.

Use the Sea Salt Pomade on damp hair, warmed between your palms first, then comb it back with the fine-tooth side of the Styling Comb. Start with a pea-sized amount and build up; on thick hair you may need a little more.

No. The BSSET Hair Styling Powder is a styling powder for root lift and grip. It soaks up some oil at the roots, but it isn't a cleanser.

Hair must be fully dry. Pump 2–3 times at the roots, section by section, then rub the roots with your fingertips to activate the grip and push the hair into shape. It's invisible once rubbed in, even in dark hair. On damp hair it turns to paste.

Yes. Every BSSET styler is water-based and washes out with your normal shampoo. If you've used a lot of pomade, wash twice.

No, the Curl Gel is coming back. We had a leak issue with the bottles and are taking the time to fix it properly before we restock. It'll go back on the site as soon as it's in stock. Join the newsletter at the bottom of this page to hear first.

They've been replaced by the Original Curl Cream, which covers every wave, curl and coil type (2A–4C). It does the same job in one product.

It hasn't been discontinued. If you can't see it in your country, it's temporarily out of stock there and will be back. Join the newsletter to hear when it's back.

Most BSSET products are only ever out of stock for a short time. We don't give restock dates until the stock has landed, but restocks go on the site first. Join the newsletter at the bottom of this page to hear straight away.

Every BSSET product is safety-assessed before it goes on sale, under UK cosmetics rules (a Cosmetic Product Safety Report, or CPSR).

We don't describe BSSET products as natural, because natural and safe aren't the same thing. What matters is that every formula has been safety-assessed at the levels we actually use. Ingredient apps like Yuka score ingredients on their own criteria, not on the amount in the product.

The stylers are water-based and wash out with your normal shampoo.

On every product page and on the packaging. Fragrance allergens are listed by name, so if you have a fragrance allergy, check the full list before use.

Stop using the product straight away and email help@bsset.co.uk with the product name and a photo. If the reaction is severe, speak to a pharmacist or doctor.

Orders placed before 1pm on a working day are dispatched the same day. Orders placed after 1pm on a Friday, or over the weekend, are dispatched on Monday; on bank holidays, the next working day. After dispatch, delivery takes 2–3 working days in the UK and 2–5 working days in the US and EU.

UK: free on orders over £24, with a standard rate below that shown at checkout. US: $4.99, free over $50. EU: €3.99, free over €40.

We ship to the UK, the US and EU countries from local warehouses in each region. If your country isn't available at checkout, we can't deliver there yet. Join the newsletter to hear when we expand.

Yes. UK orders over £30 get a free Refresher Spray Bottle, added to your basket automatically. If it's missing from your parcel, email help@bsset.co.uk with your order number.

Ordered on bsset.co.uk: use the tracking link in your dispatch email, or track your order here. TikTok Shop: open the TikTok app, then Profile, then Orders. Amazon: go to Your Orders on Amazon.

Check your spam folder first. If it isn't there, email help@bsset.co.uk with your full name, delivery postcode and the order total, and we'll find your order and update your email.

Check your safe place and with neighbours, and look for a delivery photo in the tracking. If it's still missing, email help@bsset.co.uk with your order number and we'll chase the courier and put it right.

Email help@bsset.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the item and the packaging. For a wrong or missing item, check the parcel for a note first, as some items ship separately. We'll arrange a replacement if needed.

Orders are usually dispatched the same day, so email help@bsset.co.uk straight away with your order number and the change you need. If it hasn't been dispatched yet, we'll cancel it or update the address. If it has, you can return it unopened once it arrives.

We accept returns of unopened, unused products within 30 days of delivery. Email help@bsset.co.uk with your order number and we'll tell you how to send it back. For health and hygiene reasons we can't accept opened or used products. Sale items and gift cards can't be returned. EU customers also have a 14-day cooling-off period.

Bought on TikTok Shop or Amazon? Returns for those orders go through the TikTok app or Amazon.

Once your return has been received and checked, or your cancellation has gone through, we refund your original payment method and email you to confirm. Allow 3–5 working days for it to appear in your account.

BSSET is named after the Arabic word بسيط, which means "simple". It's pronounced BAH-seat. Every product is built to one standard: it works fast, it works on your hair type, and there's no 10-step routine.

BSSET was started by Mo, a barber from Derby with 16M+ followers across social media, and Ibby, whose hair Mo has cut since Ibby was 11. Mo made the products; Ibby built the audience. Their first product was the Curl Cream, the product their followers asked about most. BSSET has now sold over 300,000 bottles. Read our story.
